The world’s most extensive floating library M.V. Logos Hope docked at the Mombasa Port’s Mbaraki pier on Wednesday.

MV Logos Hope's visit to Kenya was made possible by various entities, including KPA, Inchcape, the Mombasa County government, and the Kenya Tourism Board. This occurrence is noteworthy as Kenya has recently been host to several cruise ships.

Book enthusiasts will get a chance to tour the vessel and take part in the floating book fair which shall run for 45 days.

Among the notable that received the ship include Mombasa Governor Hon. Abdhulswamad Sharrif Nasir, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza, and Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Captain William Ruto.

Speaking to those in attendance, Captain William Ruto, expressed his enthusiastic reception of the arrival. He emphasizes that its presence holds significance for the entire country.

In his address to the media, Hon. Shariff Nassir, expressed his amazement at the work done by the crew in spreading hope throughout the world.

“The vessel is not just a floating book fair; it represents anchored dreams and hopes. I want to congratulate the crew and local teams that made this possible. It is no small feat; it takes a lot to have more than 70 nationalities in one vessel call home to go through different ports of the world, spreading the word of hope and humanity," said Hon. Nassir.

Tourism CS Peninah Malonza welcomed the crew and passengers to Kenya, thanking them for bringing hope and compassion to the country through their work.

“What an extraordinary day as we welcome the MV Logos Hope to the enchanting shores of Mombasa. This is not just a cruise ship; it's a floating repository of knowledge, health, and hope. To the crew and passengers, welcome to the wonder that is 'Magical Kenya',” she said.

During its stay, individuals ranging from 3 to 60 years old will have the opportunity to access the ship by paying a small fee of Sh.50. This will allow them to explore the diverse offerings it provides, including an array of books covering subjects such as science, sports, hobbies, cooking, arts, medicine, languages, and faith.
