Blue Radio Kenya is honoured to announce that Her Excellency Henriette Geiger, the European Union Ambassador to Kenya, has accepted our invitation to serve as a Board Advisory Member.
Ambassador Geiger is a distinguished diplomat with decades of experience in international development, strategic partnerships, and European Union external relations. Throughout her diplomatic career, she has championed sustainable development, youth empowerment, climate action, governance, economic cooperation, and inclusive growth. As the European Union Ambassador to Kenya, she has played a significant role in strengthening the partnership between the European Union and Kenya across multiple sectors, including the Blue Economy.
Her relationship with Blue Radio Kenya has grown over the years through her unwavering support and belief in our vision. She has been instrumental in advocating for our work through the Go Blue Project, supporting our participation in BlueInvest Africa, facilitating strategic connections with the Safaricom Foundation, and most recently introducing and endorsing Blue Radio Kenya to the European Commissioner responsible for Fisheries and Oceans during the 11th Our Ocean Conference held in Mombasa.
These engagements have opened valuable opportunities for our organisation and reinforced international recognition of the role that Blue Radio Kenya continues to play in advancing knowledge, innovation, and public awareness on the Blue Economy and sustainable development.
As Blue Radio Kenya enters its next phase of growth, including expanding our national reporting network, strengthening our impact journalism initiatives, and pursuing terrestrial FM frequency transmission, Ambassador Geiger's strategic guidance, international perspective, and extensive development experience will provide invaluable leadership and counsel.
We are confident that her expertise and commitment to sustainable development and innovation will greatly strengthen our organisation as we continue to build Kenya's leading urban digital radio platform while bridging the knowledge gap on the Blue Economy, environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.
